C-H-I-P-O-T-L-E Your Time Has Come
The day is finally here. CHIPOTLE, the burrito place par excellence, has arrived in St Louis. Three locations I'm aware of. The official day to start is tomorrow, but I have it on good information that if you show up at Chipotle today, you get free burritos.
I'll be at the Chesterfield location (across from the Trader Joe's on Clarkson), twice.
Franki and I love Chipotle. Qdoba is good - don't get me wrong - but Chipotle started my journey to the hot sauce lifestyle.
SOON is Today.
Jim, Have you tried La Salsa? There's one near you. I like them and Baja Fresh, because the food doesn't spend so much time between the kitchen and the plate. The burrito places with the big assembly line counters just aren't the same.

Hey, I've heard about Chipotle from you for the lastt two years. So why didn't you have the frachise in StL? You're smart. It was an opportunity.

CH - it's because we were told that Chipotle was corporate-owned, instead of franchisee at the time - and the other problem is I want to eat food, not smell like it.
God bless restaurant owners, but they work too hard for too little.
Nathan. I'm going to forget you said that about La Salsa. I can only imagine your taste buds are warped, but that's the consequence of living in a part of the south where Pork is considered Barbecue (Clearly Beef is the superior BBQ meat).

Actually, that part of my palate was shaped when I lived in LA. I've decided that most cuisines are improved when they encounter the easy availability of fresh produce in California.
I do like NC barbecue (western, please), but my tastes aren't as limited as you might think. :-)
It is possible that La Salsa in Missouri loses some of what makes it good in California, though. I've found that Baja Fresh survived the translation to NC and Virginia quite well, except that our local franchisee managed to go out of business. :-(

Excellent food, fun atmosphere, and $6 for a meal in aluminum foil. What could be better?
I love Chipotle. Thank goodness they were spun off from McDonald's. I was always fearful that McDonald's would do to Chipotle what GM did to Saturn.

Hi Jim. Chipolte's good stuff. I'll be looking forward to your review of Bridge and Tunnel Pizza when they arrive in Stl. All the best.
